It's game day!
On Friday, Miss Lieb's high school independent art classes journeyed to Clarke College in Dubuque.
🎨 3 students saw their artwork on display in Quigley Gallery for the 1st time!
🎨 All participated in a variety of mixed-media workshops alongside 8 other area schools. The workshops were led by esteemed Clarke College professors.

The Foods and Nutrition class took a day long trip to explore local pork farm to table. Student traveled to AJ Lena Maid Meats, The Rafters Restaurant and Kepner Farm to learn all abut pork production starting with raising the hogs, processing and to the consumer.
Thank you to these business, family farms and Illinois pork producers for making this possible!
Interior Design student spent a day away to travel up to Spring Green to the Frank Lloyd Wright Home. Students were able to tour the grounds and learn about his architecture and design. Thank you to the River Ridge PTO for helping make this trip possible.
The animal science class did piglet "ear notching" in class today as a part of the swine unit using fake skin and real notchers!
River Ridge FFA participated in the Section One FFA volleyball tournament on Friday at Scales Mound. Although we did not make into the finals bracket, we all had a good time!

A HUGE shout out to Iisa Malmberg, Nate Haas, Lucius Mendenhall, Nick Cobine, Katie Cobine, Daly Niccum, Sam Cobine, and Brogan Grube on their performance in the ILMEA District 8 Honors Band and Choir. It was a wonderful day of music making across 4 ensembles and all kids represented River Ridge proudly. 💙

The FFA Chapter came home with a win last night at the Section One Agronomy CDE out of 12 schools! Katie Cobine won the whole contest, Graci Vanderheyden was 2nd, Nick Cobine was 3rd, and Wyatt Ritchie was 4th. The Jr. High team came in 2nd, Christian Morhardt placed first overall and Natalie Haas was 4th.
