Students from River Ridge attended the Northern Illinois Ag Industry Expo along with 230 other students from area schools. They had the opportunity to meet with over 40 agribusiness; from Compeer Financial and Stephenson Service Company to Midwest Groundcovers and Grain Solutions. It was a great chance to see some of the professional agriculture opportunities in our area!

The December regular School Board meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 6:00pm instead of December 18th due to a scheduling conflict.
The Truth in Taxation Hearing will be held on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at 5:45pm.

Don't forget to order your yearbooks at the discounted $30 price before winter break. A list of those who have ordered is attached.



Cats Care would like to thank the Elk's organization in Galena, and a private donor for providing students in need with winter gear. Together they donated almost $4000 worth of supplies. The members of Cats Care donated numerous hours of their time to our students as well to distribute these items outside of regular school hours. Below are examples of what some students received.



Congrats to Nick Cobine on placing 2nd in the FFA AgEd contest. His presentation was on horses and differences between English and Western tack. He will now move on to the district competition that is in February.
Graci Vanderheyden also competed st this contest and was 4th overall.



Congratulations to the FFA Greenhand Quiz Bowl team on their first place finish in the section! They were the sections winners at the contest on Tuesday night and are now qualified for the State competition!

The 5th grade band members had their first full band day today! They behaved so well and made great music! #riverridgewildcatsband








The 8th grade STEM class is working on making their metal roses this week! They have been learning to use the drill press and the metal grinding wheel as well as learning some patience and perseverance as they make their petals.




Come out and support the Lady Cats!!


The PSAA class finished learning tje parts of the Dairy cow skeleton. They each made a model of dairy cow out of pasta and labeled all of the " bones."



The Horticulture class started making thier Christmas wreaths today!





5th grade students made metal tooled ornaments in Art class this week.
