Today, the 7th grade English classes got started with the All-Stars program, presented by Mrs. Muzzey, RN from FHN! Mrs. Muzzey will be working with our 7th graders over the next few weeks to discuss healthy habits, making positive choices, and character education.

Congratulations to the top three spellers of our Spelling Bee! Coming in as the #1 speller is Brogan; #2 is Evelyn A and #3 (alternate) is Evalynn D! Much thanks to our community supporters Anita Larson from Apple River State Bank and Vicki Wurster from Citizens State Bank, who provided the prizes for the top two spellers.
Critical Need Blood Drive in Elizabeth!!
ImpactLife is a great local drive that keeps the blood within local hospitals.

The animal science class got back in the swing of things today by learning how to grade ready-to-cook poultry. They had to decide if the examples were A,B or non-gradable based in a variety of traits and defects.
Due to unforeseen circumstance the MS girls basketball game on Thurs Jan 18 vs Galena will start with the 8th grade game at 4:15 followed by the 6th/7th grade game.

Congratulations to our super spellers who competed in this year's spelling bee! 24 of the best spellers in grades 4-8 competed to determine who will represent River Ridge in the ROE bee in February!

Elementary students who reached their AR goal for Q2 got a sweet treat from Three Sisters Sweet Shoppe! In spite of the cold weather, the ice cream hit the spot and made for a great celebration of reading! Thank you, Three Sisters, for supporting River Ridge readers!

River Ridge will not have school Tuesday, January 16th, due to frigid and dangerous weather conditions. With the predicted rise in temperatures throughout the day, Tuesday night activities will take place. If this changes, additional notifications will be sent. Stay safe and warm!
The FFA Strawberry Fundraiser has started! Support our FFA students by purchasing delicious fresh starberries direct from Florida! A whole flat (8 quarts) is $30 and a half flat is $18. Contact Mrs. Trone or an FFA member to place your order. Orders are due by February 1st and delivery will be the week of March 4th. Thank you for your support!
