
The 6th Grade STEM class is wrapping up their robotics course! They built a robot with a claw to compete in a competition to see who could pick up more objects, and they learned how gear ratios can alter their speed!








The 8th grade STEM class worked on thier engineering skills today as they competed to build the tallest free standing structure from spaghetti noodles and marshmallows. Cainen Bauer was the winner of this quarters class with a 23" structure.

Congratulations to Arthur Horn for his 2nd place finish at last night's profeciencies competition in Geneseo! His record book was in the specialty animal category with his beekeeping project.



The Ag Mechanics class visited RT&T Repair this morning to learn about career opportunities in the transportation industry. There is nationwide shortage of technicians for both automotive and diesel! Universal Technical Institute sponsored the trip and was there to talk about thier training schools as well.


This is a reminder that IGSMA Large Group Contest for Middle School Band and Choir students is this Saturday! Bus leaves at 7:15 in the morning from the Middle/High School parking lot. Please be here BEFORE 7:15.

We had a great day at solo and ensemble contest on Saturday at West Carroll High School! Band students brought home 5 division 1 ratings, 2 division 2 ratings, and one division 3 rating! With our combined band and choir scores, we are tied for 6th place in the IHSA Music Sweepstakes Competition for Class D schools! Way to go kids!

Students in the Intro to Ag class made Dirt Dessert in class today as a part of the Soils unit!




Congratulations to George Winter for being selected as 2nd Team All Conference in basketball.
The River Ridge Boys Basketball Team was also selected by the coaches in the conference to win the Sportsmanship Award. We are proud of the players for representing the school in a such a positive way,.

Congratulations to Avery Engle on her 2nd place finish in the finals round of the Job Interviews LDE (leadership development event)! She will now be moving on to the district level competition!


The formatting class finished up their Microsoft Word unit by writing a properly formatted business letter to their favorite celebrity or company. Envelopes were printed using the mail feature in Word and then sent off. We got our first response from former President Barack Obama...pretty cool!

Mrs. Tippett's 1st grade reading groups completed their Dream School Project!! After learning how to make 6 different shapes, each group created their dream school! Their favorite part of the project was a song/video about all of the shapes and dancing through the entire video!!



Reminder! Mini cheer camp is tonight for elementary students who have signed up! Students will stay after school and then will have a performance at 5:30!

FFA members concluded their National FFA Week activities today. Today was a make up from last weeks ice storm. We played a heated round of musical buckets and then several rounds of tug-o-war. It was a great end to FFA week!
