SPEECH

Speech Team is an IHSA event in which students can compete in individual speaking and acting events.  The thirteen categories range from public speaking to acting to interpretive reading and many others.  The team begins practicing in November, with an open practice schedule to accommodate students who are in other activities.  Competition takes place in December and January in the form of invitational meets at other high schools.  The IHSA state series begins in February with a regional, sectional, and state tournament.
