Orientation to Agriculture Science |

Designed for students to look into opportunities available in the Agricultural Sciences. Students will be introduced to Biological Sciences, Marketing, and Money Management and be directed to pursuing their interests, career options, awards, leadership experiences, and travel in this area.

Biological Science Application in Agriculture |

This course is designed to reinforce and extend students understanding of science by associating basic scientific principles and concepts with relevant applications in agriculture. the course will be valuable preparation for further education and will increase the relevance of science and the scientific process.
Semester One- Plant Science
Students will examine major phases of plant growth and management in agriculture and the specific biological concepts that govern management decisions. Topics of study are in the areas of initiating plant growth - germination, plant sensory mechanisms, enzyme reaction, absorption, and managing plant growth - photosynthesis, respiration, translocation, metabolism, and growth regulation.
Semester Two - Animal Science
Topics of study are in the areas of growth and development of animals - embryology, nutrition, immunity systems, and processing animal products - preservation, fermentation, and pasteurization. The course will be valuable preparation for further education and will increase the relevance of science through the applied setting of agriculture by enhancing literacy in science and the scientific process.

Agricultural Mechanics |

The following topics will be covered in this class. Mechanics in agriculture, electricity, welding, surveying, and woods. Students will learn, both in the classroom and in the agriculture mechanics lab. This is a "hands on" class. This is a year long class. Students who are interested in a vocational career or that would like to learn more about these topics are encouraged to enroll.

Agriculture Business Management |

Agriculture Business Management will develop student's understanding of the agricultural industry relating to the USA and World Marketplace. Instructional units include: marketing and trading, international agriculture, imports and exports, agricultural law, taxes, governmental regulations and policies, and advanced computerized record keeping. Student skills will be enhance in math, reading comprehension, and writing though agribusiness applications. Employable skills will be developed with resume writing and interviewing techniques to gain employment. Post-secondary education will be explored at agricultural colleges and Universities. Participation in FFA student organization activities and SAE projects is an integral course component for leadership development, career exploration, and reinforcement of academic concepts.
Agri-Business Management is offered every other year in rotation with Ag Operations

Agricultural Operations |

The prerequisite is Introduction to Agriculture or in special cases, advance permission from the instructor. BSAA and Agriculture Mechanics is recommended. The following topics will be covered, each in a 9 week segment, Animal Science, Plant and Soil Science, Agribusiness and Management, and Agricultural Mechanics. This class will benefit students either planning to enter the workforce or attending college after graduation.
