This course includes a study of THE RULES OF THE ROAD with six (6) hours of behind the wheel driving experience and nine (9) weeks of classroom study. In accordance with school policy, a proficiency examination may be administered after 3 hours of behind the wheel experience has been completed. The school district is not responsible for the administration of the Illinois Drivers License Examination or for transportation to a Drivers License Examination Center. A fee, payable to the State of Illinois, is charged for the driver's permit (required by law) and a school district fee is required.
Due to recent state of Illinois legislation, no student shall be permitted to enroll in drivers education unless he or she has received a passing grade in at least eight (8) course during the previous two semesters. Only those courses used to compute a student's grade point average are considered in meeting this requirement.
