Dear Parent /Guardian,

 

I would like to share with you some information regarding my physical education philosophy, classroom rules, consequences, and grading system.

 

Mr. Knauer’s Physical Education Philosophy Statement:

To promote positive attitudes towards physical activity and healthy living through movement, with emphasis placed on self-improvement, cooperation, and sportsmanship.

 

Classroom Rules:

1.      Be Respectful

2.      Follow Directions

3.      Demonstrate Sportsmanship/Cooperation

 

 

Classroom Consequences:

1.      Warning

2.      Time-out:  loss of possible points for the day (1-3)

3.      Letter Home

 

Grading:

Your child will be graded daily on a point system.  Each day your child has an opportunity to earn three points.  Points will not be awarded if your child fails to meet the criteria below:

o       Listening and following directions

o       Participation

1.      PE shoes are a requirement for participation.

2.      Students are expected to fully participate in all activities to the best of their ability.

o       Cooperation and Sportsmanship

 

In addition to the daily points your child will also be graded on written tests, assessments, and projects.
