SCHOOL HISTORY

 

The River Ridge Community Unit School District #210 was formed in 1985 by the consolidation of two long standing  schools, Elizabeth and Hanover  The district is located in the scenic northwest Illinois county of Jo Daviess.  The High School offers courses for both college prep and vocational students.  The Middle School  provides a complete program for sixth through eighth grades.  There is also an elementary (k-5) , along with a pre-school program.  The total student population for the district is 529;  231  elementary, 144 middle school, and 154 high school.  The school colors are navy blue and gray.  "Go You Wildcats" is the school song done to the Naval Academies "Navy Blue & Gold" theme.

The River Ridge School District, in an active partnership with parents and community, will promote excellence in a caring environment in which all students learn and grow.  This partnership shall empower all students to develop a strong self-esteem and to become responsible learners and decision-makers.  The school district is committed to developing and using a visionary and innovative curriculum and a knowledgeable and dedicated staff.
